Zuriel Conducts Film Making Class For Mathare Slum Youths - Nairobi/ Rewards Film Class Student - Namibia

As part of her continued quest to ensure that Africa's children are educated, Zuriel has conducted her first Film Making class in Kenya. This follows similar projects in Windhoek - Namibia, where it was launched, Lagos - Nigeria, and last month in Port Louis - Mauritius.
The children from age ranges 8 - 19, who had never seen film making equipment's before were taken through basic film making skills, and simple editing processes. They also shared some of their favorite movies, before familiarized themselves with simple tools in the film making process like cameras and film clip boards.
At the end of the project, Zuriel was invited to visit some of the students homes, and she obliged to the delight of many of the students and their parents, on arrival in some of the homes. They live in some of the poorest parts of the city.
Rewarding Her First Productive Student - Namibia
On December 7th, she reunited with her first film class from February 2016 in Windhoek - Namibia, and her DUSUSU Foundation presented a check for $1000 and a 'movie clip board' to the first student from that class to make her own documentary with a borrowed camera - Ms Anna Kalola. It is a great inspiration to her other students to purse a similar path, and it also shows what one young girl with a dream, can really do in the lives of others.
She also made tome to meet with First Lady Monica Geingos and held a  number of discussions and initiatives. Zuriel returns to Los Angeles December 23rd, after 4 weeks traveling on the African continent across Kenya, South Africa, Mauritius and Namibia
Over the last 2 years, Zuriel has met and spoken 1-on-1 with 24 World leaders about the issue of Girls Education. Some of these include the Presidents of Liberia, Namibia, Mauritius, Malawi, Kenya, Malta, Croatia, Cape Verde and the Prime Ministers of Samoa, Jamaica, Vanuatu and Lesotho.
