Basic Technician Certificate Programs - NTA Level 4
1. Social Work
2. Business Administration
3. Labour Relations and Public Management
4. Human Resources Management
5. Community Work with Children and Youth
Minimum Entry Qualifications
(i) The applicant must have at least four (4) passes of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) - (Excluding Religious Subjects).
OR
(ii) The applicant who holds at least six (6) months certificate from any institution recognized
by NACTE or NTVA Level 3. In addition, the applicant must have at least four (4) passes from Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) - (Excluding Religious Subjects).
Ordinary Diploma programs -NTA Level 5 & 6
1. Social Work
2. Business Administration
3. Labour Relations and Public Management
4. Human Resources Management
Minimum Entry Qualifications
(i) The applicant must have at least a minimum of one (1) principal pass and a subsidiary at Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) in appropriate subjects that will amount to minimum of 1.5 points (i.e. at least one E and S). In addition, the applicant must have three (4) credits from Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) - (Excluding Religious Subjects).
OR
(ii) Basic Technician Certificate from an institution recognized by NACTE with a GPA of 2.0. In addition, the applicant must have three (4) passes from Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) - (Excluding Religious Subjects).
OR
(iii) The applicant who holds a Certificate in Nursing/Midwifery and related courses, and Certificate in Education (Grade III A) must have an average of C from institutions recognized by NACTE. In addition, the applicant must have at least four (4) passes from Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) - (Excluding Religious Subjects).
Bachelor Degree Programs

|
Two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points from two subjects defining the admission into the respective programme (where A=5; B=4; C=3; D=2; E=1).

Recognition of
prior learning qualification

B+ Grade: where A=75-100; B+ = 65-74; B=50-64; C= 40-49; D=35-39; F=0-38.

Equivalent applicants
|
At least four O’-level passes (Ds and above) or NVA level III with less than four O’-level passes or equivalent foreign qualifications as established by either NECTA or VETA;
AND

i) At least a GPA of 3.0 for Ordinary diploma (NTA Level 6); OR

ii) Average of C FOR Full Technician Certificate (FTC) (where A=5; B=4; C=3; D=2); OR

iii) Average of ‘B’ Grade for diploma in Teacher Education; OR

iv) Average of ‘B’ grade for Health related awards such as Clinical Medicine and others; OR

v) A Distinction for unclassified diplomas and certificate.

Postgraduate Diploma Programs
1. Law, Mediation and Arbitration (Evening Classes)
2. Strategic Human Resources Management (Evening Classes)
3. Health Systems Management (Evening Classes)
Minimum Entry Qualifications
The applicant must have a Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in the relevant field or its equivalent in Social Science with PASS grade.
Master Degree Program
1. Social Work
Minimum Entry Qualifications
(i) Advanced Diploma in Social Work or Bachelor in Social Work or Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work. The applicants in this category will only be required to undertake the Advanced Modules that carry 120 credits.
OR
(ii) Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences preferably in any of the following: Community Development, Sociology, Health Sciences, Psychology, Education, and any other related discipline.
(iii) Applicants in this category (Without Social Work background) will be required to undertake both Foundation and Advanced Modules that carry 260 credits.
(iv) Applicants must also have a minimum of 2.7 GPA results in their undergraduate degree/diploma.
MODE OF APPLICATION
Applicants are required to apply through online application system (OAS)via the Institute’s website www.isw.ac.tz, and pay a non-refundable fee of Tshs. 10,000/= for Tanzanians and 15 US Dollars for non-Tanzanians.
