Tanzania Foundation yatoa msaada kufanikisha mchakato huo
Wahanga wa ugonjwa wa Satarani wanaotibiwa katika
taasisi ya Uchunguzi wa Saratani ya Ocean Road iliyopo jijini Dar es Salaam
wataanza kunufaika na huduma bora kwa njia ya kisasa kwa kutumia Teknolojia ya
Mawasiliano kutokana na mchakato wa serikali kuimarisha huduma za taasisi hiyo.
Wakati jitihada hizo za serikali zinaendelea sekta
baadhi ya sekta binafsi zimeanza kuunga mkono jitihada hizo za serikali ambapo
kampuni ya mawasiliano ya Vodacom kupitia taasisi yake ya kuhudumia masuala ya
kijamii imetoa msaada wa kompyuta 10 za kisasa kwa taasisi hiyo.
Akiongea wakati wa kupokea msaada huo katika hafla
iliyofanyika hospitalini hapo leo,Mkurugenzi Mtendaji wa taasisi hiyo,Dk.Julius
Mwaiselage,amesema kuwa msaada huu umepatikana katika kipindi mwafaka ambapo
hospitali hiyo iko katika mchakato wa kuendesha huduma zake kidigitali.
Dk.Mwaiselage alisema kuwa hivi sasa kumekuwepo na
ongezeko kubwa la wagonjwa wanaofika hospitalini hapo kwa ajili ya kufanyiwa
uchunguzi na kutibiwa hivyo kuna umuhimu mkubwa kuhakikisha kuwa ili
kuwahudumia ni kuwa na huduma za kisasa katika kila idara kwa njia ya TEKNOHAMA
na tayari serikali na wadau mbalimbali wameanza kufanikisha mchakato huo.
Aliishikuru kampuni ya Vodacom kwa kuwa mstari wa mbele
kuunga mkono jitihada hizo “Tunawashukuru Vodacom Tanzania Foundation kwa
kuunga mkono jitihada za kuboresha huduma zetu ili ziweze kuwa bora zaidi na
tunatoa wito kwa taasisi nyingine kuendelea kutuunga mkono katika mapambano
haya ya kutokomeza ugonjwa wa Saratani nchini na kuwapatia huduma bora wahanga
wa ugonjwa huu”.Alisema.
Kwa upande wake Mkuu wa Mawasiliano na Uhusiano wa
Vodacom ,Jacquline Materu,alisema kuwa Vodacom kupitia taasisi yake ya
kuhudumia jamii ya Vodacom Tanzania Foundation imekuwa mstari wa mbele kuunga
mkono jitihada za serikali kukabiliana na changamoto mbalimbali zilizopo kwenye
jamii hususani katika kuboresha sekta ya elimu na afya.
“Leo tuko hapa kutoa msaada wa kompyuta 10 lakini
tumekuwa tukishiriki kufanikisha miradi mbalimbali ya afya ambayo imesaidia
kuokoa Maisha ya watanzania wenzetu hususani Wanawake na watoto wachanga na
tutaendelea kuunga mkono jitihada za serikali kuboresha Maisha ya
watanzania “.Alisema.
Materu aliitaja baadhi ya miradi hiyo kuwa ni mradi wa
ambulance wa kuwawahisha akina mama wajawazito katika vituo vya afya
wanapokaribia kujifungua,mradi wa kugharamia uchunguzi na matibabu wa
akina mama wahanga wa Fistula na Saratani,Mradi wa kusaidia vifaa kwa watoto
wanaozaliwa kabla ya umri na kufanikisha mafunzo mbalimbali ya watumishi wa
kada ya afya.
Mbali na kutoa msaada wafanyakazi wa Vodacom pia
wamekuwa wakijitolea muda wao kushiriki kusaidia miradi ya kijamii katika sekta
ya afya ikiwemo kutembelea mahospitalini na kutoa misaada kwa wagonjwa na
kuwapatia faraja.
Kwa upende wao baadhi ya wagonjwa waliolazwa
hospitalini hapo kupata matibabu wameshukuru wafanyakazi wa Vodacom kwa
msaada na kuwatembelea kwa ajili ya kuwapatia faraja.

donation to boost
services at Ocean Road Cancer Institute
Cancer patients who are receiving treatments at the
Ocean Road Cancer Institute in Dar es Salaam will start benefiting from modern
and improved services following a donation of 10 computers made by Vodacom
Tanzania Foundation.
The donation was made in line with government’s quest
to modernize health services in the country.
Speaking at the handover ceremony held at the hospital
yesterday, the Institute’s Executive Director Dr Julius Mwaiselage said the
donation has come at the right time as the hospital is in the process of
digitizing its service provision.
Dr Mwaiselage said there has been a huge increase of
cancer patients attending treatments at the Institute thus it is vital to
modernize service provision in all departments through IT hence that is why the
government and other stakeholders have started to channel efforts into
achieving that.
He thanked Vodacom Tanzania for being on the
forefront in complementing government’s efforts in improving the health sector,
“We thank Vodacom Tanzania Foundation for supporting government’s efforts to
improve health services and we call upon other to continue supporting us in our
endeavors to combat cancer by ensuring better services for patients.”
Vodacom Tanzania Head of Corporate Affairs and Public
Relations, Jacquiline Materu said through Vodacom Tanzania Foundation, Vodacom
has always been keen to complement government’s efforts to address challenges
facing the society especially in education and health sectors.
“Today we are here to give this donation of 10
computers but we have been implementing various health projects which have
helped save lives of our fellow Tanzanians especially women and infants… and we
will continue to support government’s efforts to improve lives of Tanzanians,”
said Materu.
She mentioned some of the health project that Vodacom
Tanzania Foundation has implemented as the ambulance taxi project which helps
transports pregnant women to hospitals, treatments for fistula and cervical
cancer, donating machines for premature babies as well as offering trainings to
community health workers.
Apart from the donations, Vodacom Tanzania employees
have also been volunteering their time to visit patients and cleaning hospital
surroundings in other regions.
