Members
of the East African Legislative Assembly’s (EALA) Commission, led by Speaker Rt.
Hon Dr. Margaret Nantongo Zziwa, today had a successful visit to the East
African leading media house—IPP Media.
The
visit is one of several planned by the Assembly to seize the moment by visiting
various stakeholders ahead of the much awaited EALA plenary sessions scheduled
to start next Wednesday at Karimjee Hall in Dar es Salaam.
The
Commissioners had an opportunity to visit electronic channels of ITV, Capital
TV, East African TV, East African Radio, Radio One, Capital Radio and print media
arm under IPP.
They were impressed by the size and the level
of hi-tech deployed by IPP to guarantee quality programming and broadcast.
Members
had also an opportunity to meet and have an audience with IPP Media Mogul,
Chairman Reginald Mengi at Serena Hotel where he hosted a luncheon for the
legislators.
Mr
Mengi unconditionally agreed to broadcast live the EALA plenary proceedings at
request of Hon. Speaker.
The
