HYATT REGENCY KILIMANJARO HOTEL SET ASIDE USD 50,000 FOR CSR

HYATT Regency the Kilimanjaro Hotel has set aside USD 50,000 as part of the hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to foster the development of education sector in the country. It has been learnt.

Speaking to invited dignitaries during the dinner party hosted by the Kilimanjaro hotel to its customers yesterday in Dar es Salaam, General Manager Trevor Saldanha said the funds would be used to repair and rehabilitate Mtoni Primary school in the Temeke municipality.

“Equally important when in business is to give back to the community one operates in and I would like to mention here that “The Kilimanjaro” as part of its corporate social responsibility has kept aside 50,000 dollars that is being used to repair & maintain the Mtoni School,”

“ We have already begun working with the school principal on the areas that are in urgent need of repair and while some work is being done with the help of outside contractors a lot of this project is being completed with the help of hotel employees who donate their free time to this important cause,”

“We are also partnering with His Worship The Lord Mayor of Ilala, Jerry Silaa on his project for 2013 which is to ensure that every child attending a public school has a bench to sit on,” says Saldanha

He said that the hotel will always remain the iconic “Kilimanjaro Hotel”; all team members will work hard to live up to the name and represent the brand to the best of theory collective abilities.

Saldanha added that the hotel continues to be the preferred residence of Kings, Queens, Presidents, Prime Ministers, Entrepreneurs and Entertainers when they visit Dar es Salaam (some of you may have already caught a glimpse of some of our famous guests on the screens).

He further said that the aim of any company is to expand and increase its enterprise value and Hyatt is currently constructing a 77 room hotel in historic Stone Town, Hyatt will commission the new “Park Hyatt Zanzibar” next year. This spectacular property will set the tone for hospitality on the island.
