Big Brother The Chase 2013: FAREWELL, FEZA

Fabulous Feza followed her recently-departed beau Oneal out of Big Brother: The Chase during Sunday’s live eviction show. Her departure leaves 7 housemates in contention for the USD300 000 prize, with just 14 days of The Chase to go.

After joining IK on stage, she shared her thoughts on life, love and everything else with the continent. She told IK that she’d originally liked Elikem when they walked into the house, but things had changed. “I liked what I saw, but he’s just a bit immature,” said the Tanzanian. “Do you really love Oneal?” asked IK. “Yes,” replied a shy-looking Feza.

Feza told IK that she and Oneal had argued often because he sometimes thought she was using him and he didn’t trust her. “Did that change before he left?” asked IK. “I had my doubts – I tried so hard because I wanted him to trust me. Then I put myself in his shoes and I realized I would react the same way. I thought I owed it to him to earn that trust,” she said. IK asked the Tanzanian whether she thought Oneal had another lady waiting for him outside the house. Her response was that she wasn’t sure. “So you’re still not 100% on the trust thing?” asked IK, to which Feza replied: “No”.

When IK showed her who had nominated her, she was shocked to see Dillish pop up on screen. She said she would have been surprised to be nominated by Melvin, but he had spoken to her about it. Asked who she thought would win, she said she wasn’t sure if he would or not, but that Angelo was her favourite.

Oneal, evicted last week, got a chance to share his thoughts on life outside the house. He said he had reconnected with his artistic side in the house and was looking to taking that further. He had also been coming to terms with how people had seen his Diary Sessions. “It was my release and it seems to have struck a chord,” he said. Oneal said that the wedding task had been the best task in the house for him. “I had to make it real and tap into my own feelings for Feza in the process,” he told Africa. Bassey and Sulu’s evictions surprised him the most, since Bassey had “built a culture of his own in the house” and Sulu was “an entertainer and honest guy”. Their departures had made him realise that no one is safe.

Big Brother StarGame winner Keagan popped in to visit. He told IK that he’d invested most of his money and, talking about his short-lived relationship with Talia, explained that they had only been together for 5 days in the house, and real life took over once they were outside. He also gave viewers some insight into what the housemates will be thinking with just two weeks left in the game, saying he had been confused at the same stage last year.

Zimbabwean Hip-Hop sensation Tehn Diamond showed off his raw lyrical power as he wowed the crowd with “Grown Up Kid” at the start of the show, returning later with Junior Brown to perform “Happy / Madrinks”.

During the week, the housemates had collaborated with the ONE Campaign, which is all about taking the voice of the people to their leaders. Nigerian star Ice Prince visited the house as the housemates talked about food security, HIV/AIDS and presented Public Service Announcements in honour of AU Day.

This week’s viewer vote winners were: HD PVR Decoder – Keolebogile Radikolana (Botswana); Uhuru Tablet – Edward Makwaia (Tanzania) and DStv Walka – Omotu Ndebabatope (Nigeria). There’s only one way to win – by voting to keep your favourite housemate in the game after Monday’s nominations!

IK ended the show by reminding the housemates that Monday’s nominations would be their last chance to get rid of the competition. “Remember, you’re in this for the money, not friendship,” he told them.

The remaining 7 housemates are only 14 days away from finding out who will scoop the massive USD 300 000 prize. Stay tuned to DStv Channel 197 & 198 24/7 for all the live Big Brother: The Chase action – and don’t forget to vote for your favourites!
